Global Accessibility Awareness Day

For Global Accessibility Awareness Day, Bernadette’s Head of UX, Steph Marques, has published two new thought pieces exploring whether AI could help us create more human and inclusive digital experiences — and where the risks and limitations exist.
Across both articles, Steph reflects on how exclusion can unintentionally show up within digital experiences, from the language brands use to the interaction patterns and systems people engage with every day. The pieces explore whether AI could help teams identify overlooked perspectives, gather broader perspectives and support more inclusive design practices at scale — without replacing the human involvement that inclusive design depends on.
It’s a conversation we’re actively exploring at Bernadette as AI rapidly becomes embedded within research, design and build processes. The challenge is not whether AI should replace inclusive design practices, but how it can responsibly support them.
